HAITI Relief

We are all saddened by the tragedy in Haiti and want to help. Unfortunately, it is at times lilke these that fraudulent organizations crop up to take your money, they give nothing to the suffering Haitians, one of the poorest countries in the world. At this time, the Pope has asked that all the charities of the Catholic Church be focused on relief for Haiti. 80% of the people there are Catholic. Catholic Relief Services is one way to give. It is a highly reputable and efficient relief organization. 93% of every dollar donated goes directly to the programs. Donations go to the program specified. Give donations to St. Elizabeth‟s or directly to: Catholic Relief Services

Catholic Family Services
Emergency Assistance

Catholic Family Service is in great need of food for example in the last two years we were spending $2000 in 2008 and in 2009 we are spending $3500, that is besides the help of three churches collection food. From Christ the King, Holy Spirit (Basket 52) once a month. Volunteers bringing food from United. We are so grateful for our volunteers for their help. Gary & Barbara Mensen for their donations of bread when ever they can. Steve& Patti Walsh for frozen food. But for 2 years or more we are seeing over 100 families with over 1000 individuals who are out of food because their bread winner got laid off or got sick. People who apply for food stamps have to be recertified and that takes 6 to 8 weeks, or more to get food stamps. A lot of these families have small children or are raising grand children. We also get food from St. Elizabeth every week , but we need a lot more.
